Refresh PC Inventory Data with End Users' hardware & software

Purpose: To synchronize Novo with the end user's software/hardware installed.

Prerequisites: Login script updated by admin.

Steps:

  1. Once your end users have logged into the network and the PC inventory command is automatically ran, login to Novo (with Asset Management Module) as a Super Admin user.
  2. Click PC Inventory. 
  3. Click on the Refresh PC Inventory link. 


    • This will import certain inventory data - (to relate the inventory files to End Users based on their Username).  Once this is done, the inventory information is viewable in Assets Management or the admin side of the End User's Help Desk ticket through the Software and Hardware buttons.

      Note: If you purchased the Novo Asset Manager and click on the link "Refresh PC Inventory with Asset" instead of "Refresh PC Inventory", your PCs will be imported/refreshed into the Novo Asset Manager (with the PC name as the asset name).

      Note: Synchronizing the inventory data may take a few minutes.  If a timeout error occurs, increase the ASP script timeout value in IIS (open IIS, go to the properties of the web site or virtual directory the Novo software was installed on, click on the Home Directory or Virtual Directory tab, click Configuration and then the Options tab).
