Best Practices for Creating a Report with a Chart

When creating a report with a dashboard chart, the grouping and counting feature must be used. In this article, we are providing you will some best practices to follow when using these features.


Grouping: As a best practice, group your report by a column that is commonly used for all tickets, assets, contacts, etc.
Examples:
  • For Ticket Charts, use a column such as category, priority, status, or ticket template.
  • For Asset Charts, use a column such as location, asset type, or status.

Counting: As a best practice, count columns that will provide a meaningful chart.
Examples:

  • For Ticket Charts, use a column such as Ticket ID, Status, Priority, etc.
  • For Article Charts, use a column such as Article ID, Status, etc.
