Create Locations / Hierarchical Structure
Purpose: To create asset locations/ hierarchical structure.
Prerequisites: Novo initial software settings, Module Configuration, Assets, List of locations where assets are.
Steps: - Click Admin->Setup->Locations: Assets
- The Locations Page now appears
- To create a new top parent object, click Add New Location button.
- Enter the name of the new location in the Name field.
- Click Save.
If you would like to create a subordinated entry for an existing parent:
- Click the object for which you would like to create the subentry.
- Click the Add New Location button.
- Enter the name of the new location.
- Click Save.
- A Location with Subentries will appear with a + symbol
Sometimes you may wish your precise position in the structure of locations. The path pane will provide you assistance in defining your location in the hierarchical structure:
By clicking the All item, you will go to the root of the hierarchical structure. Click any object subordinated to All to see its subitems. On the edit asset screen, the choice of selecting a location will look like this:
