Novo Software 4.33.01 Release Notes

This version introduces the following new feature(s):
  • The Ability to Relate Tickets to other Tickets (allowing Parent/Child or Peer/Peer relationships).  This feature was added to facilitate the ITIL Problem Management Process.

Known Issues

The items listed below are known issues (with workarounds where possible) but where not deemed critical enough to delay this release.  These issues may be corrected in a future release.
  • Enterprise Edition - User Defined Fields are Limit to Approximately 70 Fields per Module
    • Description: To prepare for the upcoming Novo Report Writer Module, SQL Views have been added to make reporting on user defined fields very easy.  These views are refreshed each time a User Defined Field is added.  Currently the script that refreshes the SQL Views can only process up to about 70 User Defined Fields.  It will be modified in a future patch to allow approximately 140 User Defined Fields.
    • Workaround: Ensure that you have less than 70 User Defined Fields per module (i.e. no more than 70 User Defined Fields for Help Desk Tickets).
  • Enterprise Edition - Help Desk - Ticket to Ticket Relationship Capability
    • Description: When you relate a ticket to another ticket the software currently allows you to save child tickets also as parent tickets.  This ability will be removed in the future.
    • Workaround: Do not configure child tickets as parents of other children (i.e. creating grand-children).
